Jean Kolbo

Hello! I’m wondering if someone at Kolbo can explain How your gallery came to be called Kolbo? Is it a surname or does it have a Jewish meaning? I married into the name and have always been told it means coal shed in Norway or it’s short for a city called Kolbotn in Norway.

Kolbo Fine Judaica

Hi Jean,
Thanks for the question! Our name comes from two Hebrew words. The first, Kol, means “all” or “everything.” The second, Bo, means “within.” Together, the name means “everything is within,” since our gallery has all of your Judaica needs right inside.
